About Southgate Partners
Southgate Partners was founded in 2020 by Chris Taylor and Ed Rice, who bring over 20 years' combined M&A experience from senior roles at PwC. We provide M&A advisory services to private businesses valued between $10 million and $100 million — spanning business sales, corporate divestments, capital raisings, acquisitions and strategic advice. Our team is deliberately small, with Chris and Ed directly involved in every engagement, day to day, supported by a group of skilled advisory professionals.

Chris Taylor
Director & Co-Founder
Chris has 18 years of M&A experience, including 12 years at PwC, where he held the role of Director within the Mergers & Acquisitions team. He co-founded Southgate Partners in 2020.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) / Bachelor of Economics, Monash University
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program, Levels I & II
- AFS Licence Responsible Manager
Ed Rice
Director & Co-Founder
Ed has 13 years of M&A experience, including roles at PwC and Macquarie Bank, holding the role of Associate Director within PwC's Mergers & Acquisitions team. He co-founded Southgate Partners in 2020.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce, University of Melbourne
- Kaplan Professional, Mergers & Acquisitions subject
- AFS Licence Responsible Manager
